Almost 10 years ago, Ironwood Cider started as an idea to bring genuine hard cider to Ontario tables. Staying true to the traditional 'dry' style of making cider, Ironwood is a crisp, refreshing choice for any occasion with only a hint of natural sweetness.
Ironwood Cider strives to produce genuine, easy-drinking Ontario Craft Ciders that are enjoyable and easy to share.
How It's Made
Working closely with local growers, our various styles of cider are made from 100% Ontario fruit. Every year, we select the best blend of apples to produce our quality Ironwood Original Cider, while seasonal fruits for our small-batch craft ciders come from small local farms in Ontario.
Once pressed into juice, we ferment our ciders "low-and-slow" onsite, using a variety of select yeast strains to express our philosophy of cider-making.
After fermentation, we filter our ciders carefully to retain as much flavour as possible.
Once filtered, our ciders are canned or kegged for enjoyment! Our Ironwood Original Cider can be found at many local bars and restaurants in Niagara, and LCBO locations across Ontario. However, for our small-batch seasonal ciders, you might need to make a trek down to visit us! We only produce enough (right now) to supply on-site growler fills, and a few local bars and events.
We've got big plans!
In late Spring of 2018 we hope to be breaking ground on our official facility of "Ironwood Cider House". Built directly onsite and beside our current location in Niagara-on-The-Lake; this new construction will enable us to bring even more genuine, quality cider to you.
